EPF response to the European Commission’s call for feedback on the revision of the EU Pharmaceutical Legislation
The European Patients’ Forum (EPF) welcomes the long-awaited revision of the EU pharmaceutical legislation. This is a unique opportunity to make the EU regulatory framework for the authorisation of medicines more patient-centred, aiming for fair access to medicines.
Although the European Commission's proposal contains some positive steps forward, more can be done to ensure that the legislation meets the needs of those who will use the approved medicines: the patients.
As we are actively contributing to the development of this legislation, our position papers on the proposed review, on Unmet medical needs, and on the Paediatric Committee have served as a basis for our input to the European Commission’s consultation on its proposals, which is closing on 8 November.
