EPF task force delivers a roadmap towards inclusion of vulnerable groups’ perspective within patients’ organisations
In 2016, seven volunteers from EPF membership have participated in a task force on inclusion of vulnerable groups’ perspective within patients’ organisations. They discussed with speakers from various non-governmental organisations (NGOs) representing groups that are vulnerable to health inequalities or discrimination (the LGBTI people, undocumented migrants, the Roma people, homeless people and disabled people) and also addressed some cross-cutting needs.
The main outcome of this series of teleconferences is the EPF roadmap towards inclusion of vulnerable groups’ perspective within patients’ organisations which is available here.
How you can use this roadmap
This roadmap was developed for patients’ organisations. The aim is to raise awareness and foster reflection and action on inclusiveness in the patient movement, and to support patients’ organisations’ advocacy for the rights and specific needs of all groups of patients in an inclusive way within the EU. It contains suggestions for actions to implement both for EPF and for patient organisations at European or national level.
Please feel free to use this roadmap within your own work and disseminate it within your membership.
EPF will also use this roadmap and carry out actions in this field as part of the EPF campaign on access in 2017.
