Workshop on “Access to and Uptake of Biosimilars”
We have a number of places available for patient representatives to attend a European Commission workshop "Access to and Uptake of Biosimilars".
When? 6 October 2015 (from 10.00 to 16.30)
Where? Brussels
What is this workshop about?
The workshop is a follow-up to the biosimilars-related activities under the Process on Corporate Responsibility (Access to Medicines in Europe platform) organised in 2010-2013, in which EPF participated.
The work on biosimilars concluded that stakeholders (patients, doctors, payers, industry etc.) feel there is still a significant need for unbiased information on these relatively new type of medicinal products. They are seen above all as an instrument to make high-quality treatment options available to a wider range of patients.
What’s on the agenda?
The agenda will include presentations from different stakeholders and facilitated panel discussions. More information, including the draft agenda will be available at a later stage.
How to apply?
There are several places available for patient representatives. Costs of travel and accommodation will be covered by the European Commission.
Please let us know as soon as possible but before 10 September if you are:
- interested in attending the workshop
- interested in participating in one of the panel discussions (subject to agreement with the Commission)
- why you are interested in biosimilars (e.g. you are using biologic treatment yourself, you are representing a patient organisation that is using biologics/biosimilars, et cetera)
EPF reserves the right to allocate places based on “first-come first-served” but also to ensure diversity in terms of geographic and disease representation.
