23/04/2015 Cross-border Healthcare Workshop, Bucharest, Romania
When? 23 April 2015
Where? Bucharest, Romania
What?
The workshop's objective was to raise awareness about the Cross-Border Healthcare (CBHC) Directive and patients’ rights enshrined within this legislation. We made sure to ‘unpack’ various aspects of the Directive which have wider policy and systems implications of interest to patients (eHealth provision, HTA provision, general provisions on Quality of Care and Patient Safety, specific provisions linked to Rare Diseases, etc).
Attendees acquired greater understanding regarding the role of National Contact Points and how patient groups could support their effectiveness. An informal network of patient leaders interested in CBHC was created to monitor developments over the coming years.
Who attended?
Patient leaders from Romania with the capacity to transfer learning from the conference to peers within their organisation and networks (board representatives, directors and communication specialists within the organisations).
